There are many reasons why some people don’t want to get out of bed in the morning.
I’m blaming it on the sky, the clouds, the movement, the colors. From my bedroom window, these morning wonders captivate me from my bed, and a gazing meditation ensues. Added to every other landscape experience that has ever transfixed me, I have all I need to explore where sky meets land and water.
I love working with oil paint and cold wax medium and oil paint sticks. There is an immediacy of moving color around, over and through. After a painting session, I let the work sit so I can absorb what I have done. Then, I return again and again with more layers, more color, more decisions. That’s the truth.
